Veteran actor of Indian Cinema, Anupam Kher has resigned as the chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India. The main reason behind his sudden decision of stepping down from the position is his professional commitments which will require him to be stationed in the U.S for the next several months or even a year. According to PTI reports- Anupam gave his resignation to Information and Broadcast Minister- Rajya Vardhan Singh Rathore who accepted it.
Some days ago, Nasiruddin Shah also brought the absence issue of Anupam Kher into consideration questioning about his responsibility and commitment towards the FTII as the Chairperson.
On 30th October, Anupam Kher gave his resignation which clearly states the reason for stepping down and his concern towards FTII students, faculty and management. In the resignation, Anupam said, “Given this assignment, it would not be fair to me, the students and management team, for me to hold a position of such responsibility and accountability, without being actively involved in the operations.”
Here’s the Tweet of Resignation by FTII Chairman- Anupam Kher
It has been an honour, a privilege & a great learning experience to be the Chairman of the prestigious @FTIIOfficial. But because of my international assignments I won’t have much time to devote at the institute. Hence decided to send my resignation. Thank you. 🙏 @Ra_THORe pic.twitter.com/lglcREeYM2
