Ranveer Singh’s new song ‘Doori’ from Gully Boy speaks daunting reality

Ranveer Singh never really goes away from the limelight. This time the Simmba star is in news for his upcoming film Gully Boy. Since the day Gully Boy’s trailer released, fans are going gaga over his new avatar as a Street Rapper.  To drop a cherry on the cake, makers recently organized a concert for the music release of the film. Reportedly, Gully Boy has 18 songs in the album and out of 18, Ranveer has voiced for 6 songs. Bravo!

 

Today, the makers released another song ‘Doorie’ from the album. The song tells a hard-hitting scenario of our country and presents a dichotomy within our society. With lyrics like ‘Right mein building aasmano ko chori, Left mein bachhi bhooki sadko pe sori’, the song hits the pain points of Indian society. Doorie is voiced by Ranveer Singh and lyrics of the song are penned down by Javed Akhtar and Divine. The music is composed by Rishi Rich. 

 

Ranveer Singh shared the song on Twitter and wrote – “Doori out now! #Gullyboy”

 

Gully Boy is inspired by the real-life story of famous rappers – Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy. The rapper duo rose to fame with the song “Mere Gully Mein”. The film will take you on a journey of boy’s love towards a rapping and also how he chases his biggest dreams to become a successful rapper, surpassing his class and societal standards. The first trailer shared a glimpse of  Naved and Sakina’s strong determination to show the world their worth and follow their passion.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy starts his new gig on the box office from 14th February.
