Total Dhamaal Review

Total Dhamaal Review: Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit fuels up the mindless comedy!

Director: Indra Kumar

Cast: Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, Anil Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh

Genre: Comedy

After receiving not so favourable response from the critics and audience for Double Dhamaal, makers of Dhamaal franchise have once again elevated the graph of laughter with today’s release Total Dhamaal. Directed by Indra Kumar, the much-anticipated film’s trailer had a mixed response but we can see a huge crowd moving to the silver screen for mindless laughter that was long pending!

Total Dhamaal made up to the headlines with addition of extravagant star casts such as  Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor. For the matter of fact, a crazy trio reunion has really spiced up the new franchise. The plot of the film is again about a treasure hunt which makes Total Dhamaal a total predictive case from beginning but twist comes with the tagline of the film itself which says ‘The Wildest Adventure ever’. Scary encounters with wild animals and comic timings of the casts really brings the X-factor. One of our favourites is when Javed Jaffery rescues Arshad Warsi using the snake as a rope. Some jokes fall flat on the ground while some tickle your funny bone really hard.

The film opens up with a daring 50 crores robbery by Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Mishra from Police Commissioner Boman Irani’s room. Well, the drama elevates when Ajay and Sanjay’s driver partners cheat them and run off with a humongous amount of treasure. With same dying man’s treasure revelation scenes, many other joins into the Rs. 50 Crore hunt and the race begins to reach the Janakpur Zoo, the place where the treasure is hidden, begins!

Ajay Devgn is superb in his rough, badass look. Sanjay Mishra’s cool dude avatar bores you a bit. Actor Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit are playing a recently divorced couple. Their husband-wife one-liners hit the right chord and gives a barrel of laughter with timed perfect punches, truly entertains.

Meanwhile, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, and Reteish Deshmukh are back with the Dhamaal feel.  Not to forget Johny Lever’s guest appearance as Bengali Helicopter services owner. The comedy king justifies every scene with his accent and comedy scenes with Riteish Deshmukh. Sonakshi Sinha’s dance number ‘Mungda’ does not really helps the film in any manner, it neither bores nor entertains!

Overall, the treasure hunt journey to Janakpur does not come smoothly for any of the characters. The film compiles all possible transport hurdles may it be roadways, waterways or airways. With some bizarre elements like a dual facing car, old damaged helicopter or an over smart GPS, Indra Kumar’s directorial ‘Total Dhamaal’ lives up to expectations. The VFX in the film looks better than the trailer, not as crazy as we thought. With completely clean comedy, Total Dhamaal is a family entertainer.

We recommend you to watch Total Dhamaal for some light-hearted, mindless comedy. So, what are you waiting for? Book your tickets, grab some popcorns and enjoy the show.
